The National Society of Pershing Rifles is a military fraternal organization originally established as a drill company. The scope of activities conducted by Pershing Rifles Company F-8 at Syracuse has expanded to include basic military and survival skills, leadership and team building, and social functions.
The Pershing Rifles are nationally organized as a military fraternity open to both men and women. Entry into the Brotherhood is contingent upon completion of a pledge period--the Pershing Rifles Indoctrination Process--similar to Greek fraternities, but focused on development of qualities and values of a professional armed forces officer.
Syracuse's Company F-8 has a rich history of drill and tactical training reaching well into the 1960's. Many of Syracuse's most distinguished military graduates have been members of the Company.
Members of the Pershing Rifles wear the distinctive purple and white shoulder cord with silver and gold tip and the blue P/R rank shield.
Any student interested in gaining a more in-depth knowledge of military subjects is encouraged to join.

The Arnold Air Society is a professional, honorary service organization advocating the support of aerospace power. The service aspect is perhaps the foremost in the mind of many members, because of the society's continuing contributions to our campuses, our communities, and our corps-but it should always be remembered that our primary mission is to improve ourselves as future Air Force officers.
Brief HistoryArnold Air Society's history reaches back more than 50 years to its founding at the University of Cincinnati in 1947, and Silver Wings traces its legacy to the founding Angel Flight at the University of Omaha in 1952. Our organizations have been steadfast partners ever since, striving to build outstanding airmen and civilian leaders who have an understanding of the importance of aerospace power to our nation.
SyracuseYou will recognize current members with blue and gold shoulder cords on their service dress uniform, as well as an AAS rank pin above the name tag on blues uniforms. Feel free to ask us any questions you may have as we'll be more than proud to oblige. Every cadet, non-cadet, or civilian, is highly encouraged to join our program, and our initiation begins early spring semester.
